I very agree to give your schoolmate a gift on his(her) birthday. A gift can give him(her) a surprise, a friendship, and a wish. Think about it, when someone give you a gift, you will be very happy ,won’t you?
A gift can deepen the friendship. Maybe he (she) does not regard you as a best friend when you give him(her) the gift. but when you give him (her) a nice gift, he(she) will be very moved. So your friendship with him will become much further.
Some students think that it is a waste of money to give other people gifts . but you need not spend money on gifts. As the saying goes, it's the thought that counts. The gift made by yourself can be more express your heart.
Oh yes, on parents’ birthday, Mother's Day, Father's Day,and Thanksgiving Day,don't forget to give your parents gifts! You should make the gift by yourself! Your parents will be very happy!

我非常赞成同学过生日时送礼物。送礼物能给过生日的人一份惊喜、一份友谊、一份祝福。想想看，当别人送给你礼物时，你是不是非常开心呢？
礼物可以加深友谊。或许你送礼物的对象并不把你当成最好的朋友，但当你送给他（她）一份精美的礼物时，他（她）会非常感动，这样你和他（她）的友谊就会更深一步。
有些同学认为送礼物是浪费钱财，但送礼物并不是必须用钱买的，常言道：礼轻情义重。自己亲手做的才更能表达自己的心意。
对了，父母亲生日时，母亲节、父亲节、感恩节时也别忘了给自己的父母送份礼物哦！一定要自己做的！父母亲一定会很高兴的！
